Happy 13th Birthday Emma

Happy 13th Birthday Emma

It is incredible to think we now have a teenage daughter, especially one so kind, respectful and talented. I know I speak for both myself and Belinda when I say how proud we are of you Emma. You have really blossomed into a wonderful young woman. We hope that you have a wonderful day celebrating your birthday today. Love always Mum & Dad

Bribie Island Parkrun

Bribie Island Parkrun

Parkrun today was at the relatively new Bribie Island parkrun, the S.S. Koopa Trail Parkrun. Coincidentally, it is Belinda’s 333rd and my 111th parkrun. It wasn’t an early start for a change, as we were camping at Bongaree for the long weekend with the Macqueens and Nicolles. The run itself was nice. We ran 2 laps of up and back along the boardwalk. It was a little windy, but the overall temperature was perfect for running. I set a new…

Lego Man Toilet Roll Holder

Lego Man Toilet Roll Holder

I was looking for something new to print when I came across this awesome over-sized lego man toilet roll holder on thingiverse. Overall I’m fairly pleased with how it turned out. It was quite difficult to find a “normal” yellow filament. Most of the yellow filaments I found seemed to be fluorescent yellow. The one I ended up with was TwoTrees Yellow PLA filament, which although it didn’t look fluorescent in the description, it still has a fluorescent look to…

3D Printing for Halloween

3D Printing for Halloween

So I recently got back into 3D printing and have been testing out my new Prusa Mini+ printer. I order a couple of rolls of filament with my printer. A Galaxy Black PLA and a Red PETG roll. So far the Galaxy Black PLa has been very easy and reliable to print with. I haven’t had a single failed print, other than my own silly mistakes. While the quality of the Prusa filaments are really outstanding, the killer is in…

Chermside Parkrun

Chermside Parkrun

Today we were off touristing again for Parkrun. Anne came up for the weekend, so the kids decided to stay with her, while Belinda, Lorraine and myself got up at 4.30am to go to Parkrun. While it was a little cool when we got there, it wasn’t as cold as what South Toowoomba Parkrun would have been. I got dressed in tights and a jumper, but decided to ditch them before the run. The run itself was quite nice. It…

Yowie Parkrun

Yowie Parkrun

A 4.30am start this morning to do Parkrun at Kilcoy. Belinda had already done the course before, at the parkrun opening of Yowie Parkrun. It was a rather simple course and beautiful run around the lake. We met Ron Grant, who was volunteering. Ron Grant was an Olympian, who was the first to run around Australia back in the 1980’s. He ran a total of 13,883kms in 217 days, which equates to an average of 64km per day!! Emma and…

Ryan’s 9th Birthday party

Ryan’s 9th Birthday party

The last day of school holidays and what better way to celebrate than a birthday party at Inflatable world. Ryan invited a few of his friends to join him in celebrating his 9th birthday. Everyone had a great time. I even got to burn off some calories when I joined them for a couple of games of tag. After we got home, Ryan opened his presents. One of the presents he got was a solar powered helicopter project, which he…

My first sub-30min 5k Parkrun

My first sub-30min 5k Parkrun

Officially made it under 30 minutes for Parkrun today! I beat my last personal record by almost a minute. When I first started running I thought it was going to get easier and easier to shave big amounts of time off my personal best. I’m now starting to realise that it is harder than I first thought. I also have a new found respect for those people that can consistently train day in and day out, and achieve some truly…

Lota Parkrun

Lota Parkrun

It was another early start this morning, about 4.30am, we headed off to parkrun, this time we were visiting Lota. Lot is a suburb of Brisbane, and to be honest I’d never even heard of it before. We arrived around 6.30am, with plenty of time to have a look over the course and walk around. There were a lot of people out exercising, running, walking dogs, pushing prams. It was quite busy along the walkways. There was only about 80…
