Letter to Ben – 06 May 2017

It has been over 18 months now and we haven’t seen or heard from Ben. It is genuinely heart breaking to go through life knowing the value of time, while others squander your time like they have an infinite amount of it. I spoke with Malcolm in court the other day and he seemed genuinely concerned about his 35 year old daughter being forcibly removed from his house by way of court order, but surprisingly failed to see the similarity of our situation with Ben, even after making the comparison blatantly obvious. I guess some people are just inherently selfish.

Dear Ben

How have you been? I hope you are doing well and enjoying your time at school. Have you been receiving my letters? I  have sent you three letters now and haven’t heard back from you. Is everything ok?

We have been planning a holiday to go overseas to New Zealand. We are hiring a motorhome, like the one that your Namna & Papa own. Emma & Ryan will be coming with us, but Declan is staying home with Lorraine & Darren, as he has some important basketball games that he really wants to go to. Declan made it into the Basketball team for the Toowoomba region. His team is called the Allstars. I was the scorekeeper for one of his games last week and he won 70 points to 46. The scoring was quite difficult as it was very fast-paced and there were a lot of things I had to remember to write down quickly. Have you been playing any sports?

Uncle Brendan has just come back from New Zealand and said it was very cold over there. He went on a tour with a group of friends and saw both the North Island and the South Island. We are only going to go to the South Island. Did you know that New Zealand has about 90 earthquakes every year. That is about 1 every four days. I hope there aren’t any earthquakes where we visit. 😯

Well this was just a quick letter to see how you are doing. That is about all that has been going on here.

Hope to hear from you again soon.

Lot of love

Dad
