Guy Sebastian Concert
We were really fortunate to receive a couple of free tickets from work, to see Guy Sebastian in concert on Wednesday night at the Empire theatre.
I must admit that I was surprised at how good it was. Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t expecting it to be bad, I just wasn’t expecting to have enjoyed it so much.
Before the concert started, Belinda and I had some dinner and a few drinks. It was good to get some time to ourselves to have a night out together. We arrived early at the theatre, so we had a few more drinks in the foyer area, before heading in to our seats. We were pleasantly surprised to see how close we were to the front of the stage.
There were a number of his songs that both Belinda and I had never heard before which we still enjoyed. My favourite song of the night was “Like a Drum“.
The show started at 7.30pm and although we’d never heard of the opening act, she was pretty entertaining. Guy Sebastian came out on stage at 8.30pm and started with an energetic performance. There were a number of his songs that I knew, and a number of them I didn’t even realise they were his songs. He had an incredible presence on the stage and really engaged with the audience. He not only has an incredible live singing voice, but is also quiet funny.
Overall we both really enjoyed the concert and would see him again if we ever get the chance.
