My first sub-30min 5k Parkrun

Officially made it under 30 minutes for Parkrun today! I beat my last personal record by almost a minute.

When I first started running I thought it was going to get easier and easier to shave big amounts of time off my personal best. I’m now starting to realise that it is harder than I first thought.

I also have a new found respect for those people that can consistently train day in and day out, and achieve some truly incredible results. It reminds me of something Dr Phil once said

Anyone can do something when they want to do it. Really successful people do things when they don’t want to do it.

For now I am pleased that I have been able to stay consistent and achieve my first milestone towards a 5:00 min/km.

Hopefully by this time next year I will be setting myself a new goal, as I will have already achieved my 5:00 min/km!
