Belinda and I first met by accident through a mutual friend. I was invited to a barbeque at my friend’s house to meet her sister. Belinda also happened to be at the barbeque. We started talking to each other and, from that day back in October 2007, I knew that we were meant to be together.Since that day we have spent almost every waking moment together, sharing, loving, laughing and creating wonderful memories.

Big Ride for Little Kids Challenge is Done!

Big Ride for Little Kids Challenge is Done!

My two week challenge to ride and raise funds for Camp Quality is sadly over! My initial targets were to ride 150km and raise $1080. While I didn’t quite get to my $1080 target, I did manage to get very close at $825. Everyone that donated should be very proud of themselves for supporting such a wonderful cause. As for my riding, I managed to clock up 200km! My legs are pretty fatigued now, but it was certainly worth it….

Big Ride for Little Kids Challenge

Big Ride for Little Kids Challenge

While I am currently in a mode of setting myself new challenges, I’ve decided to also make this next challenge for a worthwhile cause. My next challenge is to do the Big Ride for Little Kids challenge. This is such a great cause, that helps bring well needed joy into the lives of kids with cancer and their families. I can’t imagine how hard it must be to see your child suffer through the process of dealing with cancer, littlelone,…

Warwick Pentathrun 2021

Warwick Pentathrun 2021

This year I decided to challenge myself and really get out of my comfort zone. I have decided to run the 10km Queen Mary Falls Ascent run, a part of the Warwick Pentathrun. Running 10km isn’t that much further than my standard 5km Parkrun’s each week, except this 10km is over a 400m elevation gain. The Warwick Pentathrun website states that this is a very challenging run! So last week I decided to see if I could even run 10km….

Drawing in Illustrator

Drawing in Illustrator

I have always had a bit of a passion for wanting to be able to draw really well. My problem is, I have never sat down and spent the time learning how to go about that. So I’ve decided to start using some of my spare time to tinker a little bit with digital art. I’ve been using Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator for over two decades on and off. A little photo touch up here and some logo design there….

Our New Home

Our New Home

We are officially now home owners…again! As of 2:07pm today, our new home in Colvin Street settled. Both Belinda and I are very excited to finally have a place to call our own. The kids are also very excited about moving into their new bedrooms. Luckily, over the past 2 weeks we have had early access to our place. This allowed us to start moving our stuff in gradually, rather than all over one weekend. We still have a fairly…

Covid-19 Street

Covid-19 Street

When most people are trying to avoid COVID-19, we are buying a house named after it. Well not exactly, but 19 Colvin Street is eerily similar sounding to 19 Covid Street. So yeah, we bought a house! It is a good feeling, although a little mixed at the moment, due to the current uncertainty surrounding the pandemic. However we have run the numbers and it works out that we will be about $500 a month better off, plus, we will…

Obese to Overweight

Obese to Overweight

A few months ago, I made a life altering decision, to become a healthier person and live the best life I could. While this sounds like a relatively simple thing to do, I have tried this in the past, and failed miserably. However, this time is different! Over the years I have gradually been increasing my weight and unhealthy habits. Consuming food to feel better about myself, without really knowing that is what I was doing. I never saw myself…

Belinda’s Birthday Dinner

Belinda’s Birthday Dinner

Today I surprised Belinda for her birthday with dinner at the Westbrook Tavern. It was all thanks (mostly) to the help of her best friend Kate, who suggested and booked the venue, organised people to attend and made the delicious birthday cake. I just took care of the rest! Even though a few of Belinda’s friends unfortunately couldn’t attend, it was a fun night out. The kids enjoyed playing and running around. We pretty much had the whole place to…

Gold Coast Marathon 2019

Gold Coast Marathon 2019

Belinda and Lorraine are running in the Gold Coast Marathon this year, so we stayed on the Gold Coast for the weekend. We found a cool little place called Ashmore Palms. It is a very family friendly holiday park with a bit of a difference. There are a number of feathered residents that the kids found particularly interesting. I was surprised to learn just how expensive some of these birds are. We were told by the park operator that one…
