Belinda and I first met by accident through a mutual friend. I was invited to a barbeque at my friend’s house to meet her sister. Belinda also happened to be at the barbeque. We started talking to each other and, from that day back in October 2007, I knew that we were meant to be together.Since that day we have spent almost every waking moment together, sharing, loving, laughing and creating wonderful memories.
My two week challenge to ride and raise funds for Camp Quality is sadly over! My initial targets were to ride 150km and raise $1080. While I didn’t quite get to my $1080 target, I did manage to get very close at $825. Everyone that donated should be very proud of themselves for supporting such a wonderful cause. As for my riding, I managed to clock up 200km! My legs are pretty fatigued now, but it was certainly worth it….
While I am currently in a mode of setting myself new challenges, I’ve decided to also make this next challenge for a worthwhile cause. This year I decided to challenge myself and really get out of my comfort zone. I have decided to run the 10km Queen Mary Falls Ascent run, a part of the Warwick Pentathrun. Running 10km isn’t that much further than my standard 5km Parkrun’s each week, except this 10km is over a 400m elevation gain. I have always had a bit of a passion for wanting to be able to draw really well. My problem is, I have never sat down and spent the time learning how to go about that. So I’ve decided to start using some of my spare time to tinker a little bit with digital art. I’ve been using Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator for over two decades on and off. Today I surprised Belinda for her birthday with dinner at the Westbrook Tavern. Belinda and Lorraine are running in the Gold Coast Marathon this year, so we stayed on the Gold Coast for the weekend. We found a cool little place called Ashmore Palms. It is a very family friendly holiday park with a bit of a difference. There are a number of feathered residents that the kids found particularly interesting.
