Hand Painted Reindeer Christmas Ornaments

Hand Painted Reindeer Christmas Ornaments

The past few months I have been dabbling in Adobe Illustrator. So, I thought I would have an attempt at creating a Christmas ornament for the kids using my laser cutter and some small electronics. I started by drawing my vector shape reindeer in Illustrator. I had some problems with K40 Whisper (cutting program) picking up the vector cut lines when outputting a SVG straight from Illustrator. I had to open the file in Inkscape and set the stroke to…

Colour Frenzy Toowoomba 2020

Colour Frenzy Toowoomba 2020

Today we literally had some colourful fun! Lorraine took the kids around the 5km circuit, while Belinda, Kate and myself volunteered at one of the colour stations. The morning started out with everyone in nice white shirts and an array of tutu’s. The event went for most of the morning with the kids passing through several colour stations, a bubble machine and an inflatable obstacle course. After everyone had finished the run, there were plenty of smiles and not a…

Toyota Xmas Party 2020

Toyota Xmas Party 2020

This year the Toyota Family Christmas party was held at Preston Peak Winery. At first, we thought that this wasn’t the most ideal choice of location for a family Christmas party. However as it turned out, it was quite a fun filled afternoon. The kids had a large jumping castle to bounce on. There were plenty of outdoor oversized games to play, like chess and naughts and crosses. The highlight of every family Christmas party is the arrival of Santa,…

Parkrun is back!

Parkrun is back!

Well it may have taken longer than we all expected, but thankfully Parkrun is back on! We are all very excited to be able to get back to our weekly run. Even though we weren’t really affected by COVID-19 as much as other states and countries, there is still a sense of relief that things might start to be getting back to “normal”. The re-opening of Parkrun came at a good time, as this weekend is also the Colour Run….

Drawing in Illustrator

Drawing in Illustrator

I have always had a bit of a passion for wanting to be able to draw really well. My problem is, I have never sat down and spent the time learning how to go about that. So I’ve decided to start using some of my spare time to tinker a little bit with digital art. I’ve been using Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator for over two decades on and off. A little photo touch up here and some logo design there….

Goodbye Gladstone

Goodbye Gladstone

This morning I was on breakfast duty. Belinda had picked up some bacon, eggs and pancake mix yesterday, and I was in charge of ensuring we didn’t end up at McDonalds for breakfast. After a few minutes trying to work out the stove top, I was underway. The kids enjoyed the freedom of being able to travel the elevator from floor to floor, to visit Grandma or Uncle Brad and Aunty Kellie. So I sent them to collect a second…

Goodbye Nan

Goodbye Nan

Today was a day with some mixed emotions but also some consolation in knowing that we now have a place to go to remember Nan. Boyne Island has always had a special place in my heart. Although I have many fond memories of Nan and Pop, the best memories I have, are here in Boyne Island. We started our day with the kids roller blading around Turtle way. I may have made a wrong turn which almost ended with an…

Bellingham Maze

Bellingham Maze

We are off on our first holiday for 2020, since the whole corona virus pandemic started, and are all very grateful for the break. After an early start, and breaky in the car, we stopped at Kilcoy for a small break before heading straight onto Bellingham Maze. Bellingham Maze was relatively easy to find, although some of the current road works had us doing a few loops. When we got there we were greeted with a pretty aMAZEing entrance. After…
