Cape Reinga
Today we decided to go for a drive to the very top of New Zealand, Cape Reinga.
It was a great experience to see the waters mixing where the Pacific Ocean and the Tasman sea meet. The colours of the waters where simply breathtaking. The walk down to the lighthouse was quite steep and long, but was certainly worth it.
It was incredibly windy once we got down to the lighthouse, even though it looked like quite a calm day.
On the way back home we stopped in at some of the largest sand dunes I’d ever seen. They were aptly named the Giant Sand Dunes. The kids and myself went for a few slides down the dines. It was great fun. Towards the end of the slide we were all travelling at pretty fast speeds.
Overall, it was another great day out in New Zealand.
