We didn’t know what to expect when arriving at Lifu Island. We knew that the place would likely be very small and very little infrastructure, which was the case. We were surprised by the overall lack of cleanliness of the island. Most places we looked we could see bits of rubbish just left laying around. When we got to Noumea we were pretty happy to see land again. We purchased the “hop on, hop off” bus ticket which was recommended by friends that had also recently done this cruise. We were a little disappointed with Noumea, as other than going to the beach or to a bar there wasn’t really much else to do or see.
