Christmas Day 2019

Christmas Day 2019

Christmas day has finally arrived! Saying that, this year feels like it has gone so quickly. I started my 3 weeks of holidays on Saturday, so it has been great to relax for a few days before getting into the Christmas activities. On Christmas morning we were woken up at 1.30am by Emma, then again at 2.30am, 3.00am and finally gave in at 5.00am to open up some presents. After the kids opened their presents, we thought why not go…

Carnival of Flowers 2019

Carnival of Flowers 2019

We attended the annual Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers again this year. This year was the 70th anniversary of the event. Belinda, Declan and Emma all participated in the parade with Emma’s dance group, Dancing Stars Toowoomba. Here are a few photos from the event. The parade starts at 3:00pm every year on Saturday afternoon and goes for about an hour and a half. Here is a short video of the Dancing Stars entry in the parade. Emma was on the…

Ryan’s 6th Birthday

Ryan’s 6th Birthday

Today is not only Ryan’s 6th birthday, but we are also on our way to New Zealand for the next two weeks. This year we had to have Ryan’s birthday party a whole week earlier. Ryan didn’t seem too bothered by the fact that he could open his presents and party with his friends a week earlier! Here are some photos of Ryan’s 6th birthday party, as well as on his birthday at the Airport.

Christmas Day 2017

Christmas Day 2017

After our holiday on the Gold Coast we spent Christmas at Mt Mee. We arrived a few days earlier on Saturday, just in time for Christmas celebrations with Belinda’s extended family. It was an early rise as usual on Christmas morning. The kids had fun opening their presents, especially with their new unicorn and dinosaur masks. Remarkably, I was able to capture a rare shot of Emma and Ryan not fighting, and instead hugging each other, which was great to…

Emma’s Birthday

Emma’s Birthday

Today was one of the best days of my life. At approximately 7:28am, I met and held my daughter Emma Ashley Christensen for the very first time. It is hard to put into words just exactly how I felt, but I do know the feeling was truly incredible, overwhelming, exciting and terrifying all that the same time. At around 11pm on Monday night Belinda started getting contractions. I remember being in our media room around 5:15am and debating whether or…

Christmas 2009

Christmas 2009

This year was going to be a very special Christmas. It was our first Christmas in our new house at North Lakes, followed shortly by the birth of our favourite daughter, Emma. On Christmas day, we decided to celebrate Christmas at Mt Mee instead, which was great fun for Declan, as he zoomed around the dam in Darren’s canoe, until the motor fell off the back and ended up at the bottom of the Dam. Somehow they managed to retrieve…
